  1. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

I had a hit with the Telson, but I had it on the wrong blade entirely. I initially mounted it to a thick springy, Hinoki like three ply, with super soft outers and a bouncy core. It was an experiment, but it was also a failed one. When I got home, I pulled it off the soft springy three ply...

I'm having a hit with it later this evening down my local club -- will know more then. Based on my extremely brief and therefore limited hallway hit, I'd say it's a tad slower then a T05. Spin however may be another story... Some of those trajectories I was getting and the kicks off the bounce...

Forgive me, I need to clarify what I meant 🙂 The Telson 100 only felt dead *at first* - ie: during the very first simple bounce test I conducted on it. I wasn't trying to bounce the ball very high at the time, just about 15 to 20 cm or so. It was just your most ball basic control exercise of...
  4. Sweaty Hands :(

Through flexing, or not flexing, during impact. Every time the blade strikes the ball, ithe ball imparts a certain amount of bending force to the blade. This will usually make the blade flex and vibrate during impact (usually in more than one direction, but in designing a blade it's the...

Here she is... You tell me folks, is the top sheet a match?

Haven't seen the Turtle President G20 yet sorry, so honestly wouldn't know. I'll take a picture of the Telson -- hang on a mo...
  7. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

I grabbed myself a sheet of Telson 100 direct from Loki recently, and it arrived in the post yesterday. Loki's promo pieces said it was a Japanese top sheet, and non- tacky. So I'm looking at this thing -- the sponge hardness is about right @ 47.5 degrees, it has smallish pores and looks like...
  8. Sweaty Hands :(

There can be yes -- potentially it can be very bad for your blade over time... but it depends a lot on the species of wood in your handle, in the blade itself, and the amount of sweat you produce. All timber 'moves' to a certain degree -- by this I mean that all wood works like a kitchen...
  9. Rakza 7 Soft Alternatives

Victas VJ 07 series isn't far from the mark. I use the 07 Stiff which is about 45 degrees, so its a trifle harder than R7S, but they still feel reasonably similar to me. The Palio AK47 Blue also has a reasonably similar feel, but the top sheet isn't nearly as good.
  10. Can you guys see Taiwan's flag on your phone?

    Yep! 🇹🇼
  11. New innovation rubber

A feel good easy rotation is not good sex... You want a little bit of friction involved surely. (I'll show myself out now...)
  12. Got me a 1 ply kiso-hinoki jpen

The R7S *might* work, as they are basically a greatly upgraded version of the AK47 blue. That said, I personally have trouble bottoming out my own R7S, as the sponge is a good 'impact insulator' for the blade. The AK47 Blue however lets much more force through the sponge from the get go...
  13. Got me a 1 ply kiso-hinoki jpen

It's very much a Goldilocks thing. I find to get the absolute maximum popping catapult out (ie: fun 😎😎) of Hinoki, you want a rubber that will bottom out, just a little bit, so plan around that I find what works best is a grippy (non-hybrid) rubber with a soft to medium-hard and...
  14. Palio AK47 appreciation topic

Thanks for that 🙂 How does the grippiness of the topsheet rate compared to a mid-range Japanese rubber? I like the AK47 and will keep using it for blade development, but the top sheet is lacking as far as demo rubbers go.
  15. New Equipment 2024

Apparently Yasaka has released new versions of both the Shining Dragon AND Rising Dragon rubbers. On the surface, both look more like marginal improvements instead of radical rehauls of the rubber == Stats for Rising Dragon 2 == Sponge Hardness: 47~52° Spin: -14 Speed: 10 Control: 9+ == Stats...
