  1. Saudi Smash 2024

From my end it looks like you might be reading too much into things. I can somewhat understand how those statements could come across as threats. Still it's much more likely that he's just saying that people who put their face and real names on a forum are less likely to use a more aggressive...
  2. Saudi Smash 2024

Hey does it feel awkward at all acting like a tough dude on a table tennis forum? Seems a bit out of place doesn't it? Just feels weird bringing in that 4chan or Fortnite general chat energy in here. Kinda like wearing a tank top and shorts to a formal event.
  3. dhs long 3 vs fan zhendong alc

I can't recommend you get either blade unfortunately. Both are expensive and you don't want to spend that sort of money without knowing what will suit you better. I recommend you wait until later and keep playing with Ma Lin carbon until you have a firm grasp of your options.
  4. dhs long 3 vs fan zhendong alc

Long 3 is a 7 ply clipper like blade. If you have friends with a Stiga Clipper try that out. The PD437 I mentioned is a similar blade and recommended because it's best value for price. There are other blades that might approximate the characteristics like a Yasaka Falck W7 or Xiom Solo.
  5. dhs long 3 vs fan zhendong alc

Play with a friend's outer ALC blade for a bit. Then play with a 7 ply Clipper like blade for a bit. Which one do you like better? If you have no friends with those, buy a $35 Yinhe or Sanwei ALC outer blade and $35 Yinhe PD-437 (7-ply). Which one do you like? Then get the expensive Butterfly...
  6. Help with blade

How do you expect something to be fast and controlled at the same time? Fast means high rebound, less time on the racket, which means harder to control (as some members will point that the blade itself doesn't have control). There are other factors that make a blade easier to control, such as...
  7. Inner blades about 85g suggestions?

Before you go selling your Sanwei 75, have you tried just attaching a weight to the handle butt? 5g is a nearly unnoticeable amount of weight for most humans. However balance is definitely noticeable. Sometimes I'll pick up a racket from someone else and it'll feel light only for the owner to...
  8. Im losing faith in the sport

I'm not your doctor and I can't pretend to know the details about your health so I can only speak in generalities here. At 22 years old, a person's resliency and ability to recover is absolutely insane compared to someone like me who is double your age. When I was young like you I used to...
  9. New innovation rubber

Do to my gradual of loss of sensitivity, I think I'd require the pips out version.
  10. Sanwei 75 Inner versus Yinhe 970xxA?

I've heard of varnish changing the properties of the wood a bit. Not quite sure but wipe on poly might be the better option if you just want protection (I'm sure there's threads on this topic). I don't have to sand after the poly and rubbers stick fine. Also tested the frequency before and after...
  11. Sanwei 75 Inner versus Yinhe 970xxA?

It's not factory sealed and I didn't seal it because I figured koto wouldn't splinter while I'm using DHS No. 5 glue. If you're using a harder to remove glue you may want to consider sealing it with wipe on polyurethane. If it does splinter, though, it's good that the blade is dirt cheap.
  12. Sanwei 75 Inner versus Yinhe 970xxA?

Almost zero adjustment period for me. Despite the bump in hardness frequency (around 1330hz to 1400hz) low impact shots and short play felt just as controlled as the Fextra. You just feel the power on harder shots and the throw is a bit higher where you want to close the racket a bit more for...
  13. Saudi Smash 2024

CM really making a case for herself for another Olympic appearance. Some games were close but Hayata is clearly giving it her all and still coming up short.
  14. Sanwei 75 Inner versus Yinhe 970xxA?

I switched from the Fextra to the Sanwei 75 Inner. Think the dimensions are roughly the same but the Fextra has a more squared handle and the 75 has a rounder handle. If you liked the Fextra then the 75 will feel comfortable enough.
  15. Moon 12 Blue on sale!

How much life do you guys get out of your Moon 12 Blue? I recently tried to play my Sanwei 75 Inner with Moon Blue on the BH and for some reason it felt really off. I've put it about 35 hours over 4 months on this setup which doesn't seem like enough time for the rubber to go dead but it felt...
  16. Saudi Smash 2024

Agree with you here. And I think you mean LYJ beating Lebrun pretty badly recently. Also lost to Alexis in the ETTU event. These players play so often and there are so many events that unless you are rock solid like the very top CNT players, there will always be losses on the record. And if...
  17. Saudi Smash 2024

Probably means the day he beat FZD and WCQ in Chengdu. Apparently being consistently a top player and beating nearly all of his non-Chinese opponents since then doesn't count. Or beating FZD in 2023. Only one day in 2022 should be acknowledged.
  18. Saudi Smash 2024

That's a good point that we were all talking about on that day when CNT women were fallen to pips. Specific preparation for the perceived top threats plays a huge role in this whole situation. This tends to make the wins and close losses by the perceived foreign 'ace' a bit more impressive and...
  19. Saudi Smash 2024

So it's not forgotten about, wanted to highlight how well Maharu Yoshimura played from the qualifying rounds all the way until today. Guy is still super athletic at the ripe old table tennis age of 30 and gave WCQ everything he could handle for the first 3 games. Some amazing rallies in that one.
  20. Saudi Smash 2024

I will go on record to say that I thought Miu had a better shot at beating CM than Miwa in the team final a few months back. Maybe I don't know better than the Japanese national team coaching staff after all? Seriously though that was both uncomfortable and incredible to watch.
