William Henzell against all odds progresses to round 3 of the London 2012 Olympics!

TableTennisDaily user William Henzell progressed to the third round of the London 2012 Olympics on the 29th July 2012 as he dispatched Portugal's João Monteiro in six sets! William has used TableTennisDaily.co.uk for a long time, and we all know his passion towards our beloved sport. His dedication to his TTEDGE video's on youtube help us learn table tennis, this truely shows what a great, passionate man William is. Henzell quit his full time job last year to practice at the Werner Schalger Academy full time in preparations for the Olympics!

William Henzell didn't start of strong as Monteiro raced into a 1 set lead by 11 points to 2. Henzell however took the game to his hands and won the next 3 sets 11-8, 11-9 and 11-6 full. João wasn't going to give up there and won the fifth set 11-6. The sixth set was intense and both players were giving their absolute all to the cause! At 10-10 William dictated the points by attacking first and celebrated with both arms in the air! The 5000 strong London Excel Arena erupted with joy!

Congratulations to William Henzell who will now face Vladimir Samsonov in the third round! As William won he tweeted, "OMFG, OMFG, OMFG"!

Well played, some excellent points won. Great to see the jumping for joy at the end for a well deserved victory. A great match in a very enjoyable session at ExCel. Good luck in the next round.
